Improve the UX and UI design of the Beta version of clients' internal database (known as CRIIS) contact Mobile App which is to be used by front-line staff when out visiting clients and need to access client details from database.

Liaise with App developers to understand what the organisation's objectives for the product are including the user needs and the timescales for the project. Review the developers MVP and enhance the user experience and user interface design by completing a heuristic evaluation to identify opportunities. Create low and high fidelity prototypes using Adobe XD to pass on to the development team to create and test with end users.

The design received positive feedback from App developers when they built and tested the App with staff and it's now in continuous improvement iterations.

The UX and UI developments added include:

  • Onboarding added using progressive disclosure to communicate the three areas of content
  • Consistent UI patterns introduced including buttons, colours, affordance, fonts, form styles, microinteractions, replicating the Website UI for continuity
  • Feedback interactions added in appropriate areas
  • CRIIS identity created
  • Accessibility improved with higher contrast levels and font sizes
  • Content/copy refined to improve the usability
